GRAB YOUR SWIM TRUNKS, SANDALS AND YOUR FAVORITE BEACH TOWEL. Denver’s 16 outdoor swimming pools are open for the season. In addition to open swimming and lap swim times, all outdoor pools offer multiple sessions of lessons throughout the summer. Session 1 begins June 15, with registration starting June 11. Admission for daily swim is $2 for all swimmers except adults, ages 18-64, who pay $3. Yearly passes cost $20 for ages 2-17; $40, ages 18-64; $25 for seniors 65+ and swimmers with disabilities; and $75 for families. For more information, visit www.denvergov.org/recreation.

SAFE HABITAT FOR RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS and other wildlife will soon increase in Wash Park, with a pilot project of 3-4 floating islands to be anchored in Smith Lake in early June. Friends and Neighbors of Washington Park will keep a close eye on the pilot; attend the FANS monthly meeting, “Trees in the Park,” Wed., June 10, 6p.m. at the Dos Chappell Bathhouse.
